Sara Ross

Sara Ross is a junior communication studies major with concentrations in multimedia journalism, broadcast production and strategic communication. She will be graduating in May 2022. 

When she was a first-year student, Ross joined The Beacon staff in Spring 2019, where started off by attending and reporting on the weekly Student Government meetings for the news section. During Fall 2020, she took on the role of Assistant News Editor, where she works alongside News Editor Sean Schmoyer and News Staff Writer Genny Frederick. 

Other than the newspaper, Ross is also a part of Zebra Communications, the student-run public relations agency on campus. With Zebra, she is the editor for The Medium newsletter. 

Part of the Kirby Scholar program at Wilkes University, Ross is one of the scholars of communication along with The Beacon’s Editor Kirsten Peters. Together, they help to create and promote the Allan P. Kirby Center of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship through social media. Further, Ross has experience working with the Wilkes Admissions and the Wilkes Men’s and Women’s Cross Country’s social media accounts.
