The Beacon: Female Athlete of the Week Nov. 3 to Nov. 9 Why Macy Berryman was selected: In her collegiate debut, Berryman led all scorers with 16 points in her 27 minutes on the court. The freshman was instrumental in Wilkes' 72-28 blowout against PSU-Scranton in the Colonels' season-opener.

Driving force for your decision to come to Wilkes?

I really loved the coaching staff and the location of the school. Everyone on the team was super welcoming, and I felt at home right away.

Post graduation plans in terms of a career?

I would like to work for a professional or college sports organization. I also would like to coach college basketball.

Favorite building on campus? 

The Marts Center.

What came first? The chicken or the egg?

The egg.

Hopes for this season as a Colonel?

Making playoffs for the first time in a while is a big goal for us, which I think is definitely realistic. Personally, I would like to finish in the top three in the conference.

When/Why did you first begin playing?

I began playing in third grade because my family has always been into basketball and I wanted to try it.

Favorite thing to do during practice?

Scrimmaging/live drills.

If you had to choose one thing about your program that you could improve, what would it be? 

The Synergy login.

Other interests or hobbies off of the field? 

Lifting, yoga and other physical activities.

Most influential person(s) in your life?

My parents. They have supported and pushed me to be my best throughout my whole life.

If you could have dinner with a famous person from the past, who would it be? 

Alexander Hamilton.

Favorite professor?

Professor Smith from my introductory history course, HST 101.

Favorite meal to eat on campus?

A wrap from Which Wich.
