Indie Flavour: spring music updates!

Azelia Banks has just dropped a new mixtape…for free via download. It’s titled “Slaz-Z.” She releases it after firing her studio engineer late last week under suspicion that he was leaking her new tracks.

She took to twitter as a way to expose her new motive after the firing and gave an explanation. “Hey Guys, so I recently fired my engineer because every time I came to the studio he was under the influence and he’s spitefully leaking slay-z, but guess what?!” The following tweet read, “”YOU GUYS GET SLAY-Z NOWWWWWW YAAAAAAAY !!!!!”

After that she uploaded a download link on her twitter where fans can get the new mixtape for free. This all comes after releasing two singles prior to this month. They are “The Big Big Beat” and “Used To Being Alone.” On her new fiery mixtape she got Nina Sky and Big Ross to be featured guests.

In other news, The Lumineers are about to release tour date information soon. They have a new single out called “Ophelia” which has so far peaked at #9 on the US Rock Songs chart and #11 on the US Alternative Songs chart and also peaked at #78 on the Hot 100. Their new sophomore album Cleopatra will be released through Dualtone Records on April 8th.

Mike Posner and Zendaya are once again relevant. Mike Posner is at #10 with is new (remixed) song “I Took A Pill In Ibiza.” Zendaya is at #93 with her song “Something New” featuring Chris Brown. Twenty One Pilots new song “Ride” debuts at #96 on the Hot 100 following the success of their “Stressed Out” double platinum song which has peaked at #3 and also #1 on the Pop Songs and Alternative Songs charts.

Lastly, the ultra handsome Dutch DJ and record producer, Martin Garrix, released ten new tracks during his set at Ultra Music Festival on March 18th. This comes after he split with Spinnin’ Records late last year and created his own label called STMPD RCRDS. His debut album is expected to drop this summer.
