The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are gearing up for the Atlantic Division Final, with the series beginning tomorrow night, May 12. The Penguins clinched a spot in the division final after clinching their second-round series against Hershey last Thursday. WBS takes on the Springfield Thunderbirds in a five game series with a chance to make it to the Eastern Conference Final.
Springfield reached the division final with a shocking series win over the Providence Bruins, an upset that is one of the biggest in American Hockey League history.
During the course of the regular season, the Penguins and Thunderbirds played four games, with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton taking three wins. During those games, the Penguins outscored the T-Birds 17-10.
Games one (tomorrow) and two (Thursday May 14) are both slated for 7:05 p.m. from Mohegan Arena.
In the other division final in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Monsters take on the Toronto Marlies in the North Division Final. That series begins on Wednesday, May 13.
