Pick 17 – Detroit Lions: The Lions are going to be looking to upgrade their offensive line as players like Christian Mahogany are not guaranteed to start this season, picking a player like Monroe Feeling out of Georgia or Spencer Fano out of Utah if they’re still available. Defensively Detroit can use some help in the secondary
Pick 18 – Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings need to definitely upgrade their defensive line as starters Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen were released. Secondary is also a potential position the Vikings will look to upgrade. Dillon Thieneman a Safety out of Oregon will probably still be on the board
Pick 19 – Carolina Panthers: Carolina made some big moves at the deadline especially defensively. After a successful season for the team and quarterback Bryce Young, the Panthers are looking to add even more to the defense, possibly looking at drafting a safety or another trenches player to compliment the recent deadline pickups
Pick 20 – Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys struggled on defense last season as they were bottom of the league in most defensive categories. A potential trade can move the Cowboys second first round pick up and that can lead to them taking a higher level defensive linemen such as Rueben Bain or David Bailey
Pick 21 – Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers are an aging team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Most of the top defensive players especially in the trenches will probably be off the board by the time Pittsburgh is on the clock. In that case, the Steelers may look to boost their offensive line with their first round pick
Pick 22 – Los Angeles Chargers Offensive line was a major issue for the Bolts this past season. Players like Blake Miller out of Clemson or Olaivavega Ioane from Penn State could be potentially taken if they’re still available
Pick 23 – Philadelphia Eagles With uncertainty of certain players or positions for the Eagles, a draft day trade may change how the Birds draft. But for right now, drafting Lane Johnson’s predecessor would be a great move. Also with the departure of multiple defensive starters, they may look to draft a secondary player
Pick 24 – Cleveland Browns The Cleveland Browns will most likely go Offensive Line early in the draft. Continuing to upgrade their offense will be crucial for them to build around Shedur Sanders. Don’t be surprised if they draft a receiver with this pick.
Pick 25 – Chicago Bears: Where the Bears fall in this year’s draft order, it might be in their best interest to draft a receiver to help Caleb Williams after the departure of D.J. Moore and Tremaine Edmunds. Depending on who’s still available, they may go in the defensive route and draft a defensive end
Pick 26 – Buffalo Bills: The Bills will look to upgrade their depth on defense with a player like Keldric Faulk at Defensive End. Offensively they traded for DJ Moore this offseason which gives Josh Allen a receiver. Wouldn’t be surprised if they look to add more depth to their receiver room as well
Pick 27 – San Francisco 49ers: Injuries depleted this 49ers squad all last season, but they still managed to make the playoffs and win a playoff game. With these issues, especially defensively, they will look to draft in that direction unless one of the top receivers falls down this far
Pick 28 – Houston Texans: Offensive line is definitely a position that the Texans will look to upgrade in the draft as quarterback CJ Stroud was sacked a decent amount which led to offensive inconsistencies for the Texans
Pick 29 – Kansas City Chiefs The Chiefs will be having a big draft after a disappointing season, this pick which was for cornerback Trent McDuffie who was traded to the Rams will probably be used to draft his replacement.
Pick 30 – Miami Dolphins This pick could lead to the second quarterback being taken in the first round. That being Ty Simpson out of Alabama. The Dolphins brought in Malik Willis who will most likely be their starting quarterback. Bringing Simpson in to develop and possibly start at one point could be a good move for Miami
Pick 31 – New England Patriots: After a Super Bowl appearance in Mike Vrabel’s first season at the helm, the Pats will look to invest in what they have and look to add some depth on defense. It may also be smart to give Drake Maye another weapon on offense as well
Pick 32 – Seattle Seahawks: The reigning Super Bowl champions traded away and released some top players, most notably Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker. The Seahawks will most likely be taking a running back to replace Walker here with the last pick in the first round
