Anthony DiFrancesco was named Men’s Athlete of the Week after scoring a total of 13 goals against Kings College and Mount Saint Mary College. He also now holds the shared single-game program record with seven goals against Kings.
What do you think has been the biggest factor in your success on the field this past week?
I think the biggest factor has been the work our team has been putting in during practice and the way we have been playing together. My teammates have been putting me in great positions to score, and I’ve been focused on finishing the chances that come my way.
How does it feel to share the single-game goal program record?
It’s an amazing feeling and honestly something I didn’t expect going into the game. It means a lot to be part of the program’s history, but I also see it as a reflection of the team effort because I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my teammates creating opportunities.
What’s your favorite part about being on this team?
My favorite part is the chemistry we have as a group. Everyone supports each other and works
hard every day, and that makes practices and games really enjoyable. It feels like a close-knit
group that wants to see each other succeed.
What are your goals moving forward?
My main goal is just to help the team get a win. Whether that’s scoring, assisting, or doing the
little things to help the team, I want to contribute however I can.
What about your game do you focus on improving?
I’m always trying to improve my decision-making and movement off the ball so I can create
more opportunities for myself and my teammates. There’s always something to work on, and I
try to focus on getting a little better every day.
What’s something you want to accomplish before the season ends?
I want to help the team finish the season strong and compete for as many wins as possible.
Personally, I just want to keep improving and doing whatever I can to help the team succeed.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I want to thank my family, friends, my coaches, and my pookie from bloom for their support.
Because if I didn’t have them supporting me I would’ve never been able to accomplish this goal
of mine.
