Men’s hockey opened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play on Friday night, defeating cross-town rivals King’s College in a 6-0 thrashing.
Led by a three point game from Carter Jordan, a shutout from Duncan Rolleman and pure dominance on the power play, Wilkes improved to 2-0-1 in the early part of the 2025-26 campaign.
The first of four power play goals came when Jordan notched his first of the night at 7:17 into the first period. The Colonels went into the first intermission leading 1-0.
The Colonels scored yet again as Miles Harrington found twine just over a minute into the second period.
Jordan notched his second power play goal of the night at 7:14 into the middle period. Matt Carlson notched his second assist of the night on the tally, with Harrington recording his second point with a helper.
Daniel Nau scored at 13:17 to make it a 4-0 game going into the second intermission.
The Colonels recorded their final two power play goals in the third period. Jack Lee found twine for the first time in his collegiate career off of assists from Tyler Boudreau and Patrick Roginski.
Christian Blomqvist scored the final goal for the Colonels off of an assist from Jordan to make it 6-0, the eventual final score.
Rolleman made 29 saves in the shutout victory, while Diego D’Alessandro made 34 saves for the Monarchs.
The Colonels are back in action on Nov. 8 from the Toyota Sportsplex when they finish the weekend series against the Monarchs. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m.
