The North Pocono Trojans won the PIAA District 2 ‘AAAA’ Championship over Dallas, 38-6 on Friday night.
The Mountaineers’ last loss up until the game was in week six against North Pocono.
Cole West had two touchdowns and an interception. One of those touchdowns was the opening kickoff of the second half.
Quarterback Chase Zimmerman finished with a rushing and passing touchdown while Josiah Gray and Jayden Taylor had the other two scores for the Trojans.
North Pocono built a 20-0 lead with 10:29 left in the second frame after Dallas bobbled the kickoff following a previous Trojan touchdown.
Dallas got on the board with 10 seconds left in the third quarter as Talan Geskey found Sam Kelley for a 51 yard passing touchdown.
The Trojans finished district play 12-0 while Dallas finished even at 6-6. Coming into the matchup, the Mountaineers were on a five game win streak.
North Pocono will face the District I, ‘AAAA’ champion Bishop Shanahan next week after their 42-21 win over Pope John Paul.
