Men’s, women’s basketball face off against rival

Misericordia University provides the next test for the teams after both lost to Delaware Valley College over the weekend.

Both the men’s and women’s teams look to bounce back after falling to first place Delaware Valley College this past Saturday. The men’s team posts a 7-11 record while the women’s team holds a 4-14 record.

In the previous matchup this season the men’s team pulled off a nail biting 72-70 victory in overtime at the Arnaud C. Marts center. However it was a different story for the women’s team as they fell 56-66.

The Wilkes University men’s basketball game versus Misericordia University will also be televised on WNEP2, with an 8:05 p.m. tip-off.

Alec Wizar looks to continue his tremendous season as the leading scorer for the men’s team averaging 13.3 points per game while shooting the three ball at 37 percent and leading the Middle Atlantic Conference with 49 three-pointers.

For the women’s side, Elena Stambone is looking to continue to torch the nets on Wednesday as she is the leading scorer averaging 19 points per game.

The game will be played at Misericordia University with the women to tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s game.
