Magical memories with Morgan

This week was a week full of new beginnings and unique experiences on my Disney College Program journey.

On Oct. 3 I went to Epcot with two of my friends and we were finally able to ride “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.” This ride is a new ride at Epcot that opened in May and is an enclosed roller coaster.

The unique feature of this ride is that there are six different songs a rider might get when on it; however, it is completely random every time. The different songs include, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, “Conga” by Gloria Estefan, “Disco Inferno” by the Trammps, “One Way or Another” by Blondie and “I Ran” by A Flock of Seagulls.

I was so excited that on my first time on this ride I got the song “September.” This was one of the songs I was hoping to get during my first ride and I absolutely loved the ride. I am not a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan by any means; however, I thought that the ride was very enjoyable even if you are not a fan of the franchise.

Our second ride was “Test Track,” which is a high-speed thrill ride that allows riders to create and design their own car and then take it for a test drive. Riders are also able to compare their cars against others’ cars to see if their car is more efficient, faster and durable.

We then decided to head to Universal Studios to finish our night. While we were there we went on “VelociCoaster,” “The Incredible Hulk Coaster,” “Cat in the Hat,” “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and “Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.”

We then finished our night by watching the new movie “Don’t Worry Darling,” starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. I thought that this movie was amazing and kept my interest the entire time. I would definitely recommend it.

On Tuesday my friend and I decided to explore some of the resorts at Walt Disney World after work. I visited “Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa,” “Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,” “Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort,” “Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort” and “Disney’s Port Orleans Resort.”

When I was at “Disney’s Port Orleans Resort,” I finally tried their beignets which were absolutely amazing. The most special resort to me though was “Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.” This resort was the first ever resort I stayed at when I visited Walt Disney World back in 2007.

It brought back a lot of different memories and I even cried when I saw the place I used to love crafting in. We were also able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks show on the beach at the resort, which was unforgettable.

The next day I worked a seven-hour and 15-minute long shift. Even though it was a long day, I would say that this was the most memorable day I ever worked so far. I was able to interact with three different families that I had long conversations with and who made an impact on me.

I realized that my favorite thing to do while working is interacting with guests and making their days. I find it so rewarding and something that is absolutely incredible.

Thursday and Friday were pretty uneventful besides running errands and going to work, but next week, my friends from college and from back home are visiting, so stay tuned for a jam-packed week.
