The Bartoli Beat: Did Ed Sheeran get snubbed?

The Bartoli Beat: Did Ed Sheeran get snubbed?

I bet you thought this was going to be all about Ed Sheeran not winning the Grammy for Song of the Year. HA! You’re mistaken.

My personal opinion, however: Ed should have won. He’s just amazing. If you haven’t listened to anything by him yet, what in God’s name are you waiting for? Believe it or not, the dude can rap-and rap well. His song “The A Team” was nominated for a Grammy for Song of the Year, but lost the award to Fun.’s “We Are Young.” Pretty much anything Fun. puts out is awesome too, but it’s just my personal opinion that Ed deserved the Grammy.

He also at least SHOULD have been nominated for Best New Artist. My argument: Fun. won this one, but they’ve been around on the music scene for quite a while. In my opinion, they’re not “new” anymore. Last year, no one knew who Ed Sheeran was, but everyone knew Fun. Again, just my personal opinion. You don’t have to agree.

However,Getting back to Ed’s “snub.” So basically, Ed is extremely family oriented. He loves his family and his friends more than anything. He really wanted them to go to the Grammy’s with him – win or lose. But, he was disappointed when he found out that he would unfortunately be going to the Grammys alone, because he wasn’t given (or allowed) any extra tickets to the event … even for his family.)

Sheeran says, “I’m going to be at the Grammys but I only got one ticket. I wanted to take my whole family. I’m just one person so I’m going to be there on my own.” (orange.co.uk).
