On Feb. 14, the Center for Career Development and Internship invited the Luzerne County SPCA to Wilkes, bringing dogs to socialize with.
The event was located at the bottom of the SUB from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event not only allowed students to meet some dogs, but also gave attendees the chance to get a free bag of candy. The visit allowed students to de-stress with the dogs, that are currently up for adoption, and help make donations towards the SPCA.
The dogs that accompanied them included Tracy and Shep, in addition to a binder of the many adoptable animals located in the Luzerne County shelter. Tracy stole the show for many of the students as she was able to perform tricks such as sit, shake and roll-over.
“I think this is a really good place for dogs to get adopted. There’s such a big student population with tons of possible adopters,” said Mia Sult, a first-year undecided student.
