Scholarships For Students Of Polish Descent

The Polish Room Committee Scholarship and The Judianne Stanitski Scholarship welcome applications from Luzerne County residents. To be considered, applicants must write a brief description of their Polish heritage (family immigration description) and what that heritage means to them. This must be submitted, along with applicant’s name, WIN and contact information, to Evelyne Topfer. Applications can be e-mailed to [email protected]. Please include “Polish Heritage Scholarships” in the subject line of your e-mail. Deadline for consideration is October 3, 2014

Wilkes University Blood Drive – September 11th

On Thursday, Sept. 11th there will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm in the Henry Student Center. All presenting donors will be eligible for a Fantasy Package that includes Terrance Club seats and meeting all the NASCAR drivers on stage during the opening ceremony at the POCONO 400 in June 2015. Plus, Sunoco Gas Cards and much more!

Alternative Spring Break Trip Announcement

Help Desk Hours During the Week of September 8th

The Help Desk will be closing at 4:30 pm on Monday, September 8th through Friday, September 12th.  Weekend and evening support will resume on Saturday, September 13th.

Meet Patch Adams at Wilkes University

Patch Adams, the clowning physician who challenges that status quo of medical care, will speak to Wilkes University students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Darte Center for the Performing Arts. Adams is founder the Gesundheit! Institute, a not-for-profit health care organization that promotes holistic medical care based on the belief that one cannot separate the health of the individual from the health of the family, the community, the world, and the health care system itself. All health sciences, pharmacy, pre-pharmacy and nursing are invited to attend this free lecture. Second Annual Colonels vs. Cancer 5k Run/Walk

On Sunday, September 28, the annual Colonels vs. Cancer Homecoming 5k will occur. Pre-registration is across from Evans Hall. is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m The race starts at 10:00 a.m. The race will be held on Kirby Park Walkways, just across the Market Street Bridge from downtown Wilkes-Barre. Proceeds will be benefitting Relay for Life.
