With finals coming up soon, it’s important to take time to relax and de-stress. With the help of the We’re Empowered By Science (WEBS) Club, many students got the chance to do that Friday with “De-Stress Under the Stars.”
The activity let students go inside the StarLab Planetarium and experience a video explaining the Artemis space mission and how it can help to understand more about space and the moon.
“I work with another club called ‘Science in Motion’ that actually owns this mobile planetarium and thought it would be a fun idea to bring it to Wilkes [University] for kids to experience it and use it as a fundraiser for WEBS,” said Miquela Langan, the WEBS director.
Langan also mentioned that she enjoys seeing the direct impact event money has on students. “Usually, the money we raise from these events is able to sponsor at least one scholarship for a student that comes to the WEBS summer camp.” This also isn’t the first or last time “De-Stress Under the Stars” has occurred on campus.
“We usually do this at least once per semester, typically around the end of the semester,” Langan said. “This is so everyone can chill out before the last of their exams and finals begin.”
