Family Day 2012

Wilkes Family Day 2012 was held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Ralston Field. In the park, there were a number of stands such as a t-shirt stand.

There were many things to do, such as a 50/50 raffle, a basket of cheer raffle and buying t-shirts.

Dean of Affairs Barbara King said they were pleased with the turnout. With 467 people showing up, the picnic was a huge success.   These persons also attended the “Autumn Desserts” in the Student Center.

” Programming Board had a make-your-own tie dye shirt,” said King.

This fundraiser added to the festivities as well as three sports that were going on simultaneously: football and men’s and women’s soccer.

“These events only added to the festivities,” said King.

King also said that they are going to hold the event again in 2013.

“We look to improve on this year’s picnic,” said King.

In summary, Wilkes Family Day 2012 was a resounding success. The money earned from the raffle will support other programs like buying equipment for the baseball, football, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s basketball teams.
