AOTW: Alexa Cieri, sophomore tennis player

The Beacon: Female Athlete of the Week Sept. 15 – Sept. 21 Why Alexa Cieri was selected: Cieri made program history by becoming a dual-champion at the ITA Southeast Regionals after going a perfect 8-0. She took home the E Singles title, being only the second women’s tennis player to do so, as well as the C Doubles championship, where her and partner Laura Zielinski were the first Wilkes duo to ever win an ITA doubles title. Her performance earned her the MAC Freedom Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor.
