Connecting the Dots, an annual Wilkes University event, will be happening from 6 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the Henry Student Center Ballroom and is open to students of every year.
“This event is held for an informal environment in which students can talk to alumni about their careers and ask them questions and for some advice about their fields in their situations,” Interim Director of Alumni Bridget Giunta said.
Both Giunta and Interim Assistant Director of Alumni, Mary Simmons, “We try to have someone from every major,” but it is sometimes difficult to find graduates of some science fields, considering most of the participants are within traveling distance.
Giunta and Simmons try to bring back alumni who are successful in their careers. This is meant to provide students with a greater understanding of how well they can do with their futures.
Giunta also stated “We think it is important for alumni to come back to campus and give our current students an opportunity to see what a Wilkes education can produce and help the students provide meaningful connections so that they have sources after they graduate,” Giunta also stated
Along with this, there will be a little activity for students who attend the Connecting the Dots event. Students will receive a “passport” and if they get the signature from three of the alum, they can put the “passport” into a drawing for some prizes.
