The University is profoundly saddened to announce that Brianna Smarkusky died at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center on Thursday, January 12. Brianna became ill while participating in a Biology Department Field Trip in Buck Township, PA.

Brianna was a senior biology major from Nicholson, PA.

When funeral arrangements are announced, the University will share them with the campus community.
